OVERVIEW:
This is a Full-time Temp-to-Hire job opportunity working as a Cook in a college cafeteria in Fairfield, IA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Prepare organic vegan meals in a college cafeteria, following menu’s recipes,
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation
  • Keep food waste to a minimum
  • Maintain routine meal schedules and serving times
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen facility in a safe and sanitary manner including floors, walls, all equipment and utensils

SKILL SETS REQUIRED:

  • Reliable and dependable
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • Previous experience in cooking a plus

WORK HOURS/SHIFT:

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)  Noon to 8PM, Tuesday to Saturday

WAGE/SALARY:

  • $9.00/hr. , after evaluation go to $11.50 based on skill

SCREENING/TESTING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pre-employment background screening required
