OVERVIEW

Local financial institution is seeking a Bilingual Customer Service Representative (CSR) to work at their Columbus Junction branch. This is a temp-to-hire position working full-time hours Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays. The pay will depend on experience and qualifications.

Summary: The Customer Service Representative plays a key role in assisting customers by providing retail banking products and services; the CSR also cross-trains as back-up to department functions.  The CSR’s responsibilities range from face-to-face cash handling, to promoting product service & sales, and conducting operational support responsibilities.  The CSR provides prompt, efficient and friendly service to customers as well as internal co-workers.  CSR’s will provide necessary staff coverage, float between departments and travel to assigned bank locations as directed. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will perform a variety of duties including teller operations, new accounts, deposit services, and bookkeeping.
  • Interacts with customers in person or via telephone, email to provide support and information on products or services.
  • Fields customer questions and complaints; when the issue is beyond the representative’s knowledge, forwards to the assigned specialist/manager or other appropriate staff.
  • Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve customer’s problems and concerns.
  • Maintains customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, complaints, or comments.
  • Maintains a work area that ensures the safety of all negotiables and confidential records.
  • To help develop customer relations and promote new business - Participates in community and volunteer events to increase the bank’s visibility within the community.  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior cash handling experience required and previous banking experience is preferred
  • Must be bilingual – both Spanish and English

Must be able to pass a credit and background check.
