OVERVIEW
Would you like to work for the City of Grinnell?
This is a direct hire position with excellent benefits.  Must live within a 15 mile radius of Grinnell.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Typing recorded data in the operation of the police department RMS.
• Training others members of the department in proper use and entry of the RMS.
• Sorting, filing, routing, data entry and coordination of police reports and records including: accident reports, Iowa Bureau of Identification records, FBI Uniform Crime Report.
• Maintains current statistics and documentation of computer entries, receives telephone complaints, reports of accidents, emergency situations, and ambulance requests. Prepares monthly summary.
• Assisting members of the public who come to the Public Safety Building or call.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be able to work under high level of stress and maintain concentration with high level of noise and activity in the coordination of several incoming phone calls.
• Must be able to work with frequent interruptions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Applicant must be proficient at data entry and computer systems and be familiar with general office and bookkeeping procedures.  Prior transcription experience is preferred, but not required.

WORK HOURS/SHIFT
40 hours a week. Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

WAGE
Salary based on skill requirements.

BACKGROUND SCREENING/REQUIREMENTS:
Background check and drug screen required.
