OVERVIEW

The Teller is responsible for providing a broad range of Bank services requiring constant contact with customers.  Maintaining a high level of knowledge of current Bank services along with staying abreast on new offerings is mandatory to meeting the needs of  the customers.   The Teller will perform a variety of duties related to all phases of teller work, including recording all transactions accurately and balancing each day’s operations.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

• Responsible to the Branch management or the Main Bank Head Teller for the successful performance of assigned responsibilities
• Assists and advises other personnel as necessary to assure the successful 


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Receives and handles deposits of all types, verifying amounts, ensuring proper endorsement on negotiable instruments, and examining cash carefully to guard against acceptance of counterfeit bills
• Cashes Checks for customers adhering at all times to policy and procedures of bank
• Issues money orders, and stored value cards
• Balances drawer at close of business and at other assigned times to determine all were properly executed
• Receives payments on loans, credit cards, and other accounts
• Counts, proves and packages currency and coin
• Maintains neat and orderly work area and ensures that all negotiable and confidential records are properly secured 
• Demonstrates continuously a helpful, friendly attitude
• Maintains proper amounts of currency and coin
• Sells and/or refers Bank’s products and services to customers and prospects
• Observes suspicious behavior and reports any such activity to head teller as appropriate. In the event of a robbery, remains calm and follows bank procedures to safeguard customers and staff
• Perform simple customer service functions such as assisting customers in opening accounts, assessing safe deposit boxes, and explaining ATM operations, as applicable
• Process ATM Deposits, bank mail, and night drop
• Other duties as assigned

• Through compliance with the Bank’s operations, policies and procedures.
• Through supervision and performance appraisals

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

• Minimal cash errors (i.e. cash drawer offages).
• Timeliness in completing assigned responsibilities 
• Satisfaction of Bank customers with teller services.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with customer service and cash handling

 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work is primarily performed in an office environment requiring sufficient mobility to operate office equipment, including walking, standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching and reaching
• Vision sufficient to read small print, computer screens and other printed documents
• Finger, hand, and wrist dexterity necessary
• Occasional ability to lift, carry and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Basic communication skills such as talking and hearing are needed for frequent person-to-person contact with the public and staff


WORK HOURS/SHIFT
• 7:30-5:30 M-F and 8-12 on Saturday, hours vary per location. Flexibility a must

LOCATION
• 1 in Clinton, 1 to be determined

WAGE
• $10.50 per hour
