Regular and punctual attendance

Maintains clean equipment and work area. Helps maintain all storage area in a neat, clean, and concise manner.

Assist with completion of departmental cleaning lists

Provides a list of supplies needed to fill the needs of the area

Follow written and oral instructions concerning job schedules, recipes, cleaning, and diet orders

Demonstrates understanding and compliance with state, local standards and regulations that affect the dietary department

Assures accuracy and attractive appearance of meals or snacks and delivers them in a timely manner while maintaining proper temperature

Wash pots and pans in the dish machine or in the 3-compartment sink using the proper chemicals and following the proper procedure

Assist with putting away deliveries and rotating stock to maintain compliance with FIFO (first in, first out) rules

Assist with special catering functions when instructed

Maintain stock of salad bar and assist serving customers during the lunch hour

Assist with cleanup of cafeteria and refilling of salad bar after lunch service is completed

Run the cash register and on some occasions close the drawer at the end of the day

Assist with serving patients for lunch and dinner meals as needed
