OVERVIEW

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a local healthcare facility in West Burlington, IA and Mt. Pleasant IA. In this role, you will function as an assistant to RNs. This position will perform routine patient care duties and assess/document patient conditions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assemble/disassemble and clean machines
• Assist with patient scheduling and transportation
• Maintains supplies specific to unit
• Take patient vitals
• Complete routine patient checks
• Performs patient treatments accurately according to doctor’s order, under direction of RN
• Inform patients about their disease and course of treatment
• Assist RNs with procedures associated with lab work
• Document patient conditions
• Patient care duties
• Assist with medical record maintenance
• Adhere to HIPPA and confidentiality guidelines
• Stay current on reading literature, attending workshops, etc
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• High School Diploma/Equivalent
• Experience working in a customer service and/or office setting preferred
• Be able to obtain proper training within first year of employment; obtain certifications within 18 months of employment
