OVERVIEW
Provides various levels of clean and painted steel parts to a variety of internal and external customers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Prepares clean, smooth surfaces to specified requirements on steel parts using various types of hand-held grinders and/or sanders.
  • Prepares clean surfaces on parts or assemblies by operating a grit blast machine.
  • Provides clean, washed parts for the paint operation by using a hand-held wand-type high-pressure parts washer.
  • Is able to produce acceptable paint finishes:  complete paint coverage, uniform finish, run and sag free.
  • Is able to use and maintain paint equipment:  Powder coating equipment and curing oven, airless pumps, pressure pots, cup guns, air assisted and airless paint guns.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three month's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
