OVERVIEW
A family owened Injection Molding company is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Quality Engineer is responsible for product quality management, with emphasis on problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective actions in regard to quality issues from internal and external customer concerns. The Quality Engineer coordinates the PPAP process with both Customers and Suppliers to insure product quality and facilitates the development of quality system requirements for the products, and ensures any regulatory compliance requirements are met.

  • Manage 8D Correction Action Review Investigations
  • Identify and make recommendations for quality assurance and systematic improvements
  • Support Customer Complaint (Concern) resolution
  • Support Internal Auditing of Quality System processes
  • Oversight of Production Part Approval Process
  • Develop and maintain inspection inputs for Production Work Instructions
  • Manage quality database of information for each part
  • Manage standardization of production process and control points
  • Identify and make recommendations for quality assurance and systematic improvements
  • Write programming for Quality Lab measurement instruments
  • Perform drawing reviews with customers for new projects
  • Support training for the quality assurance and production teams
  • Support inspection and manufacturing fixture design
  • Verify and maintain customer required regulatory compliance and documentation

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain open communications and tenacious follow up
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and ERP software; use of IQMS preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in math and blueprint reading/2D and 3D digital design reading
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality practices, ISO certification requirements, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 55 lbs, travel throughout the facility, and differentiate between all colors

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Associates Degree in Manufacturing related area; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3 years’ experience in quality, engineering, or related area
  • 2 years’ experience using quality related measuring instruments, programming experience with quality measuring instruments such as CMM/IMM and PC-DMIS coding

WAGE

  • $58,000/yr DOE
