OVERVIEW
This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity with a local metal scrap company in Burlington.  The General Labor position requires operating scales, printing out tickets, interaction with customers, moving scrap metal with a forklift, inside and outside warehouse duties

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operating a forklift to move materials
• Working with customers

• SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to follow the safety and procedures of handling goods and supplies

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

WORK HOURS/SHIFT
• 1st Shift-Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30 pm
• Some overtime required during the week with the occasional Saturday

WAGE

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

OVERVIEW:

  • A starch/gluten plant in Keokuk, IA is looking for a full-time Laboratory Technician.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have the ability to work rotating shifts.
  • Perform analytical testing on finished product samples.
  • Document results of all testing procedures and promptly notify operators of required adjustments.
  • Maintain on-going records of the results of all testing procedures and input such data into the computer.
  • Performs routine maintenance and calibrations on ADM laboratory equipment.
  • Maintains a neat and clean work area, washing equipment as required and returning equipment to its proper storage area.
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner, understanding that all accidents are preventable, zero is possible and safety is everyone’s responsibility.
  • Maintains awareness and adheres to all FDA, GMP, and EPA, OSHA and ADM standards and guidelines.
  • Handle various chemicals in assorted containers in the manner outlined in the manufacturer’s material safety data sheet.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Chemistry and or Biology courses helpful, but not required.
  • Good attendance history
  • Excellent safety record and awareness
  • Demonstrates sufficient computer skills to utilize lab instrument operation programs
  • Demonstrates sufficient math skills to perform calculations associated with lab testing
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks

Press Assistant

Temp to hire position with Burlington facility.  This is an entry level position that can often lead into machine operator/advancement positions.
1. Accountable and responsible for supplying technical and labor support to press areas with needed materials for the operations of the presses.
2. This is projected as being a prerequisite of becoming a press operator, if deemed that candidate meets all qualifications and job skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supply pressman with chemical and ink supplies
• Inform ink room of any ink mixing needs.
• Return supplies after pressmen are done with job.
• Keep press area CLEAN.
• Fill Chemicals:  Be sure to follow all safety precautions.
• Dispose of chemicals:  Be sure to follow all safety precautions.
• Clean plates and return to pressman when finished.
• Do quality testing as needed on presses including conductivity, durameter readings, PH reading, densitometer, color brightness, and other assigned testing.
• Assist operators with wash ups.
• All duties pertaining to presses:  materials, wash-ups, etc.
• All Designated Paperwork done accurately and completely.
• Mix ink and adjust as needed.
• PM’ing assigned parts of each press.
• Miscellaneous work as assigned by Team Leader of by Press Operators.
• Keep downtime to a minimum by assisting with wash-ups, and staging materials needed for jobs at press.
• Train on press with the intent to run while Lead Pressmen are on breaks or lunch.
• Support the press operator and team to maximize efficiencies.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
• Requires organizational and general math skills, along with the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• High School Diploma/Equivalent

WORK HOURS/SHIFT
• 2nd shift – 2pm-10pm (Mon-Fri), 3rd shift – 10pm-6am

WAGE
• $9.50/hr

This is a Temp-to-Hire job opportunity at a warehouse facility in Burlington.  This position works in the shipping/receiving area and employee is responsible for picking orders from a printed sheet and filling small tubs.  Filled tubs could weigh up to 40lbs.  Use forklift to get product out of racks.  Rotate every 4 hours picking orders vs driving forklift.  Computer use is required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loading and unloading products using a forklift as well as through manual labor from and onto trucks
  • Follow proper handling procedure of the goods
  • Input data into the shipping system for load information
  • Lift and empty up to 50 pound bags of dry material into vats for processing
  • Other duties as may be assigned by management

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to efficiently coordinate work with co-workers
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic mathematical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to follow the safety procedures for handling goods and supplies

  • 2nd Shift – Monday-Friday Noon – 8:30pm with ½ hour dinner (unpaid) plus 2 – 15 minute breaks (Could work 1-2 hours overtime during busy season)

WAGE:

  • 1st shift - $11.50/hr
  • 2nd shift - $12.00/hr
