Material Handler/Paint Booth - Durant

A manufacturer of harvesting components is hiring for a 1st shift material handler/paint booth position. This company in located in Durant, IA.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and parts utilizing pneumatic painting equipment and paint booth
- Utilize overhead cranes, straps and rigging, fork lifts and other tools to handle material throughout the facility including loading & unloading shipping racks and trucks according to production schedules
- Ensure that you are painting according to common best practices and meet all safety guidelines including the use of a respirator
- Clean up machine parts and work stations after finished production orders, comply with 5S audits
- Assemble products according to standard work
- Achieve production goals set out by production planning and leadership
- Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor and management

Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year painting and/or experience in a production setting
- Solid understanding of standard work and documentation procedures in manufacturing
- Ability to read, understand and apply production blue prints, assembly instructions, and quality plans
- Ability to inspect work according to defined instructions utilizing basic inspection gages such as tape measures, paint gages, etc.
- Demonstrate reliable work and attendance history
- Ability to work in team environment, multiple roles based on changing work schedules
- Manual lifting/handling up to 70 pounds repetitive and handle sharp objects carefully
- Positive attitude
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to take direction
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing shop floor environment and understanding of shop floor safety practices and work roles

Hours:
-  M-TH: 6:45a-3:30p     F: 6:45a-1p

Pay:
- $13-14 DOE

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Independent review and fulfillment of pick tickets
• Independent setup and preparation of items for shipment
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintains clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Qualifications:
• The successful candidate will have a positive and creative attitude towards working in a warehouse environment
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (min. 2 years)
• Ability to work within a team and learn new roles
• Experience with quality management and inspection procedures a plus
• Demonstrated reliable work and attendance history
• Forklift certification a plus, or willingness to become certified
• Lifting of up to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently
• Exhibit competency in basic organizational and communication skills
• Manage time efficiently in order to meet goals
• High School Diploma or GED

Hours:
•  M-Th 6:45a-3:30p, F 6:45a-1p

Pay:

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on cup packagers and carton sealing.
  1. Perform preventive maintenance of Paper Machinery (PMC) and Thermoforming Cup Forming Machines.
  1. Perform preventive maintenance and repair of carton sealer and related conveying equipment.
  1. Properly and accurately, complete all required records keeping, ordering and other necessary paperwork.
  1. Proper use and adherence to Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
  1. Must follow precise instructions and directions.
  1. Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
  1. Perform other duties as directed.
  1. Practice good housekeeping.
  1. Obey all safety rules, regulations and policies.
  1. Perform tool changeovers on PMC and Sherwood cup forming machines.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  1. Vocational school in related subjects desired; demonstrated mechanical ability; six months or more related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  1. Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls; reach with hands and arms.

Shift : 7am -7pm 

WAGE: $24+ depending on experience
