JOB LOCATION: Fairfield, Iowa

JOB STATUS: Full Time, Hourly Non-Exempt

RESUME & ON-SITE INTERVIEW REQUIRED                           WAGE:  $20+ per hour, dependent on experience

JOB OBJECTIVE:

  • Maintenance Technicians are required to perform skilled maintenance, fabrication, or installation work on plant equipment. Must have basic knowledge of electricity, motors, and troubleshooting skills.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, lockout tag out; comply with legal codes and regulations
  • Evaluate functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments, identifying problems and requirements.
  • Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by maintaining and improving the preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment through analytical troubleshooting; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
  • Maintains maintenance department documentation as required.
  • All other duties assigned

JOB MEASUREMENTS:

JOB LOCATION:

  • Work is performed in the foundry.  The environment is not climate controlled.

BACKGROUND/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Background in manufacturing maintenance, with at least 2 years of experience
  • Willing to learn and take direction
  • Foundry experience preferred
  • Millwrights and Fabricators preferred
  • Experience with electrical is not necessary but beneficial
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Must provide your own tools

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50lbs to 75lbs
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Often required to be exposed to extreme heat
  • Must be comfortable working around moving parts

This is a Temp-to-Hire job opportunity at a Foundry in Fairfield.  In this position you will be responsible for iron pouring duties as may be assigned within the foundry.  Steel toed safety boots/shoes are required for this facility.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THE PRODUCTION WORKER:

  • Take direction from Supervisor
  • Manual work as iron pourer
  • Assist in staging cores for molders
  • Assist with special inoculations, test wedges, and taking pouring temperatures
  • Find cores from core storage
  • Keep area around sand conveying equipment clean and remove sand as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Perform all operations in a safe and timely manner
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment

 

HOURS OF WORK & WAGE:

  • 4am – 4pm $18.50
  • 4pm – 4am $18.50
